Snowflake
Even Chance does not operate on a first-come, first-serve basis. In most cases, we have already decided on the type of home and owner we want for our dogs. These opinions are based on the temperament tests we perform before accepting the dog into our program and the behaviors the dogs display as they spend time in our homes. Our agency reserves the right to deny acceptance of any dog to an owner who we feel the lifestyle does not match that of the dog. We are in no way judging you or your lifestyle; we simply want to put our dogs in the best living situation possible. We take the decisions we make when it comes to placing one of our dogs in a forever home very seriously. If I sound like the perfect pit bull for you and your family, and you are interested in giving me a forever home, do not hesitate! Please fill out an application at www.evenchance.org/adopt, and my foster family will contact you to schedule an in-person meet and greet. We look forward to meeting any and all interested applicants.
- What is your name? My name is Snowflake. Which is very apt if I do say so myself. I am beautiful and unique.
- How old are you? My vet thinks I’m around 2 years old!
- What do you look like? Remember beautiful and unique? Yes, that’s me. I have a beautiful reddish coat with some white patches right under my chin. I have a little black around my mouth and gorgeous eye liner. My ears have been professionally cropped and my teeth are perfect.
- What do you like to eat? I haven’t tried EVERYTHING yet, but I have loved everything my foster family has given me. I love my kibble and meal times are my favorite.
- What kind of personality do you have? Truly I have the best personality. I love everyone and my foster mom tells me I can’t hold my licker. I’m always happy and in a good mood. I love to play with my foster brother. And, I get the zoomies pretty much every day. I am happy go lucky and am happiest when I am with a human.
- Describe your perfect day: Wow, what a question! I would wake up and come out of my crate. I would then have a BIIIIIGGGGGG SSTTTREEETTTTCCCCHHHHH before going outside to potty. Then I would have breakfast – it’s the most important meal of the day! Then I would play play play. Whether it’s with a human, another dog, or toys, playtime is the best. After that I would nap. A girl does need her beauty rest after all.
- What is your favorite toy? Bones. Any kind of bones. I love them. Nylabones, moose antlers, puppy chews…..you name them, I’ll chew on them. I also like stuffies and tennis balls. Sometimes I confuse my foster moms dryer balls with tennis balls. But how am I supposed to know? I will de-fluff stuffies and remove the green coating from tennis balls, so you have to be a little more careful with me for that.
- Do you know any tricks? I’ve kept my tricks close to the chest. Every now and then I’ll whip out a “paw” for my foster parents but it took me some time to get there. I can sit like a champ and my foster mom always makes me sit before she puts my food bowl down. My foster dad saw me walk on my back legs once when the neighbor dog was barking outside and I wanted to see him. I refuse to do it again because, you know, a girl must have her secrets!
- What scares you? I don’t like it when you raise your arm/hand over my head. That really scares me a lot because I’m afraid I might get hit. That’s pretty much it. I’m very brave in every other scenario!
- Do you like cats? I briefly met a cat at the vet’s office and I was curious, but not super over the top or aggressive! I might be able to live with feline siblings!
- Do you have any doggie best friends? My foster brother Dune. He’s awesome. We play all the time.
- If you could be anywhere in the world, where would it be? On a soft, comfy bed. I love to jump on my foster parents bed, especially when the sun is coming in, and just rest. I love it!!
- How is your health? Perfect. Seriously, nothing wrong with this girlie.
- How long have you lived in your foster home? Almost 2 months now. I really like it here. At the shelter, it was pretty noisy and lots of dogs barking.
- Who do you live with in your foster home and who is your closest companion? I live with my foster parents and their adult daughter with autism. Also their dog. I really don’t have any one that I’m closer to than another because I love everyone equally. I love to snuggle with and get pets from the daughter so she might be my favorite (don’t tell anyone, ok?).
- Where do you hang out when you are home alone? I have this fantastic crate with nice, soft bedding in it. Sometimes I need some “encouragement” (i.e. TREATS) to get into my crate when I don’t want to. But I don’t put up a fuss. Honestly, I’m just trying to get snacks and I play my foster parents to give them to me.
- Where do you sleep? I sleep in my crate at night too. My foster parents let me sleep in their bed once and they told me I was a perfect bed sleeper. They haven’t let me back up since because my foster brother had a temper tantrum. Brat.
- What do you love about your foster family? Everything. They have 2 granddaughters, ages 2 and 5, and I love it when they come over. They’re so cute and I’m really gentle with them. Gotta protect the littles, ya know? I love that they keep me safe and warm and understand that I just want to be loved.
- What was life like before you were rescued and brought into the welcoming arms of your foster parents? I was found in front of an apartment building laying in snow and leaves. I had been there for a few days. The lady who rescued me noticed I had just given birth and went to find my owners so I could get back to my 12 puppies. The owners said I had been stolen from their house with 8 of my puppies the week before I was found. However, they did not want me back. I don’t know why. So, the nice lady took me to the shelter and they gave me food, shelter and all of my immunizations. I also got rid of my pesky uterus so no more babies for me! I was at the shelter for about 2 weeks before my foster parents saw me and busted me out and now I’m part of Even Chance waiting for my perfect family!
